PENNING CHOSEN TO LEAD F/FH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Dan A. Penning, managing shareholder with the law firm Wright Penning & Beamer, P.C., in Farmington Hills, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Farmington/Farmington Hills Chamber of Commerce at the chamber's annual meeting in January. Originally elected to the nineteen member board on January 17, 2005, Penning has served most recently as Vice-Chair and on the Board's Governmental Affairs committee. As Chairman, Penning has pledged to push for expanded partnerships between members of the business, government and not for profit communities in the Farmington/Farmington Hills area, all with the goal of strengthening the economic health of the community.

Penning has practiced law with Wright Penning & Beamer since its founding in 1993 and has practiced in the community for almost twenty years. He focuses primarily on business and commercial matters including business acquisitions and sales, corporate formation and succession planning. In addition to the Chamber, Penning serves as a member of the City of Farmington's Planning Commission.

According to Ara Topouzian, President and CEO of the Farmington/Farmington Hills Chamber, Penning "brings considerable real world experience" to the job. Says Topouzian, "Dan has been an asset to the Chamber from day one, and I am excited to work with him in the coming year."

The Farmington/Farmington Hills Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest Chambers in Oakland County, Michigan with over 860 businesses as members.
